How to Fill Your Scatter Tube

Filling our scatter tubes is a straightforward process. Each tube features a user-friendly design with a removable lid and a perforated tab at the bottom. Simply push in the tab to release the ashes for scattering. Instructions are included with each scatter tube.

Durability of Scatter Tubes

Our scatter tubes are crafted for enduring quality when stored on a shelf. However, if buried or submerged in water, they undergo immediate biodegradation. These eco-friendly tubes are constructed from recycled cardboard.

Taking Ashes Overseas

Our scatter tubes are travel-ready and can be carried as hand luggage on flights. For detailed guidelines on transporting ashes abroad, please ensure you check individual airline and country regulations.

How do I Scatter Ashes?

Deciding where to scatter your loved one's ashes is a deeply personal choice.

You have the freedom to scatter your loved one's ashes over land or water, ensuring you obtain permission from the landowner. Depending on the chosen location, it may be necessary to engage with various authorities, including the local council, church, or private owner.  There are a number of options you may wish to consider:

  • Water Burial: Scatter ashes in UK waters using our range of biodegradable water urns.

  • Burying Ashes: Allowing you to choose the appropriate location for you.

  • Scattering Ashes: Allowing you and your family to choose one or more locations.

Do I have to fill a Scatter Tube myself?

If you order the scatter tube before the cremation service, your funeral director will gladly handle the placement of remains into the scatter tube. Alternatively, if the order occurs post-cremation, consider asking someone else to assist, due to the emotional nature of this process.

What are Scatter Tubes made from?

Scatter Tubes are crafted from 100% recyclable material and do not contain metal nor plastic. This feature enables the entire tube to be buried or, alternatively, recycled or composted once the scattering ceremony concludes

Canfly’s owner, Adrienne has delivered a beautiful product in terms of quality and visual appearance – they are stunning and the best possible casket we were able to find. Adrienne worked closely with us on the design and dimensions to deliver a casket that the staff find easy to prepare and the client knows is a respectful way to receive their loved one’s ashes. We delighted to say the least and it is all the more remarkable that this project was delivered during the Covid crisis.
